Material Limitations & Full scale prototype
The stairway to Heaven light fixture was intended to be the centerpiece of the café, concerns arose among clients about it’s visual impact in the actual space due to its imposing size. To address these concerns, we constructed a life-sized cardboard mockup of the fixture on-site, allowing clients to better visualize how it would fit into the café's design.
The client requested the light fixture to be made of wood for vastu compliance, posing a challenge. Building a large, curved, ceiling-suspended design from wood required careful planning to meet aesthetic and structural demands.
