Understanding Material Constraints
Understanding the limitations of the wood and determining how far I could push the material to achieve the desired design proved to be challenging. Some concepts, though visually compelling, were not feasible for manufacturing due to the complexity of bends and intricate weaving required. The delicate balance between design ambition and material constraints became a key consideration, as certain shapes exceeded the wood's natural flexibility, leading to necessary adjustments in the creative process. This required a deep exploration of the material's capabilities to ensure both beauty and practicality in the final pieces.
